This stamp commemorates the centenary of the diocese of Luxembourg. It shows stained glass portraits of Empress Kunigunde and Emperor Henri II from the Luxembourg cathedral.
The census of the Luxembourg people took place on December 31, 1970.
This stamp commemorates the 50th anniversary of the City of Luxembourg through the amalgamation of five municipalities.
The United Nations is an international organization made up of deliberatory bodies, functional agencies, and temporary and permanent commissions made up of representatives of the member nations. The UN charter was drawn up by 50 countries in San Francisco in the spring of 1945. The official start of the UN was October 24, 1945.
These stamps show how several medieval castles of Luxembourg may have looked in their heydays, as interpreted by Luxembourg artist Foni Tissen. Some of these castles have now completely disappeared and others are in various states of ruin. The following castles are shown:
